The second workday will be this Saturday, December 5th. We’ll be spreading the mulch that will define the garden plots. There is a specific need for about 5 guys that can run the chipper so that we can break down one of the brush piles into mulch.
Meet at 9:00am at the Hangar located at the corner of Nottingham Dr. and Mingo Road. We can’t park on the Garden Project field so we’ll have to park on church property and walk across Mingo. Bring work gloves.

Denton Bible has acquired the use of the land south of the church for the purpose of cultivating a community garden.
Part of this land will be cultivated by volunteers in the church for the purpose of supplying the community with the fruits of their labor. These volunteers will work the land, and then when the fields are ready to be harvested they will take sacks of vegetables door to door in the surrounding neighborhoods. This provides an opportunity to be a material blessing to our neighbors while providing a chance to share the good news.
Another part of this land will be carved up into 15×15 ft. plots that members of the community, as well as the church, can sign up to cultivate. This will provide a context for relationships to be built with members of the community as well as a means to supply for the physical needs of Denton. Information about this opportunity to sign up for a plot will go out in community publications so that the lower income segment of Denton will be in the know.
