“Life Groups” are small groups of men and women who have professed Jesus as Lord and commit to gathering regularly for Bible study, prayer, fellowship, and accountability to build Christ-centered relationships that encourage one another to love and good deeds (Eph. 4:16, Heb. 10:24). Life Groups exist to provide safe, intentional and authentic Christian community through which you may be transformed by the Gospel and develop the qualities found in a mature disciple of Jesus Christ:
- Loving the Lord God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark. 12:30)
- Loving your neighbor as yourself (Mark. 12:31)
- Loving one another (John 13:34-35)
Intentional, authentic Christian community seeks to build up each individual in love so that they are, in turn, equipped to join others in using their God-given gifts to build up the body of Christ. As the Church is built up, the truth of Jesus Christ is more clearly revealed to the world He intends to redeem! Therefore, the mission of God is at the very heart of DBC’s Life Groups!
Once you find yourself actively involved in the type of community that is characterized by God’s mission to “make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)”, there is no more challenging, satisfying or exciting place to be!
